GLOTRANS ATTENDED VIETBUILD 2016 EXHIBITION

Vietbuild - is a traditional festival, an impressive big event of the Construction - Real Estate - Building Materials & Interior Decoration Industry taking place in Vietnam. Over the past 14 years, VIETBUILD International Exhibition to today has brought national and international stature, this is the largest exhibition in Vietnam today, with a grand scale, full convergence of services and products. New products & advanced technology of Construction - Real Estate Industry along with diverse and rich activities.

Vietbuild 2016 exhibition took place in Hanoi, from March 24 to March 28 with a scale of 1,350 booths from 16 countries. Among 450 enterprises participating in this exhibition, there are 216 domestic enterprises, 171 joint venture enterprises and 63 foreign enterprises and 5 industry associations from many countries in the region.

According to the representative of the organizers of Vietbuil 2016 Hanoi, phase 1, at this exhibition, most of the products on display were researched and manufactured from 2015 and early 2016 with new products with new designs, features and specifications. The quality is improved, meeting the growing requirements of interior and exterior decoration. This exhibition also attracts the participation of leading domestic and foreign construction material manufacturers such as Viglacera Corporation, Dong Tam Joint Stock Company, Hoa Sen Group, Ton Phuong Nam, Ningbo United Longmen Heavy Industry Steel Structure Co., Ltd, Wuxi Myriad Corporation...

At the event, GLOTRANS Hanoi & Hai Phong solution consultants consulted many Logistics solutions, goods supply chain and import-export procedures. At the same time, it also receives orders from businesses right at the exhibition's booth, thereby bringing GLOTRANS's services closer to domestic and international businesses.

The Insured’s Duty to Prevent and Mitigate Losses

Company T (Plaintiff – the Insured) entered into an insurance contract with Company B (Defendant – the Insurer). After the insured event occurred, the Insurer alleged that the Insured had violated its obligation to prevent and mitigate losses. The Arbitral Tribunal acknowledged that such an obligation exists but concluded that the Insured did not breach it.

Insurance Contracts Do Not Automatically Terminate Due to Late Premium Payment

Under the insurance contract, the premium was to be paid in three installments, and in all three, the insured party was late in payment. When a dispute arose, the insurer (Defendant) argued that the insurance contract had terminated before the insured event occurred due to the late premium payment and therefore refused to make an insurance payout. However, the Arbitral Tribunal held a contrary view.

The Legal Value of Insurance Loss Assessment

Company Q (Plaintiff – the Insured) and Company B (Defendant – the Insurer) entered into an insurance contract. After an insured event occurred, the parties could not agree on the value of the loss and therefore conducted an assessment. The unilateral assessment conducted by the Insurer was not accepted, while the independent assessment was only partially recognized.
