GLOTRANS BEING APPOINTED AS A MEMBER OF THE CONSULTING GROUP - TRANSPORTATION BOARD OF VLA ASSOCIATION

Recently, Glotrans company was honored to be appointed by VLA - Vietnam Logistics Business Association as a member of the Advisory Group - Transportation Department of the Association. This is a part of VLA's operational development strategy in the North of Vietnam, starting from the work of developing human resources for Hanoi and Hai Phong.

Currently, the representative office in Hanoi, the Law Department has the participation of experienced lawyers such as Lawyer Vo Nhat Thang, Lawyer Ngo Khac Le. The Association has continued to develop the activities of the Transportation Department/ Consulting Group in Hanoi and Hai Phong with the presence of Glotrans and big brands in the Logistics field in the Northern areas.

Along with the fact that major agencies such as the Ministry of Transport, the Maritime Administration... are all located in Hanoi, the VLA has clearly indicated that the operation of the Advisory Group - Transportation Department depends mostly on activities in the North, therefore VLA's designation has shown its high confidence in Glotrans as well as our reputation in the transport and logistics market.

During the past long time, Glotrans has always been an active member of the Association, with many quality contributions to the organization's activities; contributing to discussing, solving and responding to many urgent and practical problems of the market. Participating in community work to support the activities of the VLA partly proves Glotrans's reputation in the Logistics field.

Believing that in the upcoming time, Glotrans will continue to be a valuable and active member of VLA, as well as a reputable and experienced company in the Logistics & transportation market of the region.

DISPUTE OVER THE SHIPMENT OF ENZYMES IMPORTED FROM INDIA

The Insured’s Duty to Prevent and Mitigate Losses

Company T (Plaintiff – the Insured) entered into an insurance contract with Company B (Defendant – the Insurer). After the insured event occurred, the Insurer alleged that the Insured had violated its obligation to prevent and mitigate losses. The Arbitral Tribunal acknowledged that such an obligation exists but concluded that the Insured did not breach it.

Insurance Contracts Do Not Automatically Terminate Due to Late Premium Payment

Under the insurance contract, the premium was to be paid in three installments, and in all three, the insured party was late in payment. When a dispute arose, the insurer (Defendant) argued that the insurance contract had terminated before the insured event occurred due to the late premium payment and therefore refused to make an insurance payout. However, the Arbitral Tribunal held a contrary view.
